Jan Berkovitch strengthens the team in Finland/Baltics

Euro Auctions, Europe's leading auctioneers of industrial plant, construction, and agricultural machinery, expands its operation in Finland, Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia with the appointment of Jan Berkovitch to build relationships the countries around the Baltic sea

Jan Berkovitch - joins the Euro Auctions team as Territory Manager for Finland, Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia. With considerable experience and knowledge in the plant and machinery sector,  Jan’s career spans nearly 30 years, working in banking with a number of institutions providing finance for heavy machinery and plant acquisitions. Switching to machinery sales, Jan had 7 years with the leading Caterpillar & Metso dealer in Estonia, before, managing Finland and the countries around the Baltic for another leading auction operator.

Jan explains what drew him to Euro Auctions, “For me, the live auction is where I wanted to be in my career and the growing reputation and prominence in Europe of the Euro Auctions brand was all encompassing. It was attracting me, like a moth to a flame. Wherever I was, or looked, or whatever conversation I was having in the industry, Euro Auctions was omnipresent as the lading auctioneer. Consignors would always reference them, as did buyers, as the #1 company to work with. With a European operation that was enviable, as well as being a family run business, with a reputation for fairness, honesty, courtesy and hard work, their values aligned with my own.”

I shall be working to bring consignors from Finland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia to the regular sales in Germany (Dormagen), Leeds in the UK, Zaragoza in Spain and the new site launching later this year in Abu Dhabi.”

“The trade between the countries surrounding the Baltic, and Scandinavia historically has been very strong and my job will be to develop those relationships, working with the other sales managers at other Euro Auctions sale sites in Europe as well as in Australia and the USA.”

Away from the Auctions, Jan is married, with a 20-year-old son. In his spare time Jan likes relaxing at home with the family, is a keen woodworker and golfer, plus, Jan has one more hidden talent. Jan is a Radio DJ in his home country, presenting two weekly programmes on heavy metal and country music on national radio channel.
