Heavy plant still very much in demand as Euro Auctions hosts live, online, one-day sale in Brisbane on 19th November

The recent one-day sale hosted by Euro Auctions at the permanent auction site in Brisbane, attracted much interest from the home market as well as interest right across the Pacific Rim.

Held behind 'closed doors' the recent Euro Auctions live online auction in Brisbane on 19th November, attracted an enthusiastic international audience, as well as consignors coming from Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, China, GB, Italy, Canada and India, many of which were first time sellers in Brisbane confirming the support this sale is getting. 

With a hammer total of $3,983,545 the sale attracted 20% more bidders than the same sale in November 2019, proving the appetite for good quality used equipment is still strong, which has been evident throughout 2020 and the Covid pandemic. 30% of all bidder accounts were first time registrations of which 20% successfully bid on and purchased machinery, suggesting Euro Auctions, Brisbane attracts serious buyers.  However, it was the home audience that was successful in the final bidding, with buyers from Australia and New Zealand snapping up the bulk of all lots.

This suggests that imports of new machinery, which were on hold during the pandemic, are still not reaching buyers. Or, are buyers preferring the value of purchasing good used equipment for new construction projects.

Craig Hart, Euro Auctions Territory Manager for Queensland, "Covid has dictated a change in the way we conduct the sale, being live, online and behind closed doors, however prices have been strong, and activity brisk. Consignors are ever committed to the recent and upcoming sale, and equipment has been arriving for this sale since the last auction in August."

The auctioneers conducting the sale were from our sister company Yoder & Frey HQ in Ohio, who, live and in real time from the USA conducted the sale, with chief auctioneer Lucas Schneider officiating over the proceedings. Euro Auctions sales are unreserved meaning all lots are sold on the day to the highest bidder. There are no minimum bids; no reserve prices and no buy backs. Bidders can register for a free account and start to save searches, adding items to a watchlist. Prospective buyers need to obtain a bidding number, which enables the customer to bid online using the Euro Auctions secure bidding platform during the live auction or by way of a 'Pre-bid' leaving a single maximum bid in advance of the auction.
