Euro Auctions prides itself on being a good corporate citizen. Whether it is with our Health and Safety policies, environmental impact or the well being of our employees we always strive to do what’s best and lead by example.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

It is our intent to improve Health and Safety at Work throughout our organisation for all our employees and any other personnel who may be affected by our work activities, complying with the requirements of Health and Safety Legislation.

We will lead industry by promoting the best practice, exceeding the Guidance of the Health and Safety Executive and other regulatory bodies. Our policy reflects our commitment to ensuring that Health and Safety at Work is paramount to the business, and actively contributes to our success.

The company recognises that each employee is a valuable asset and that risks to their health and safety should be identified, evaluated and controlled. Euro Auctions Ltd will provide safe systems of work, by carrying out task specific Risk Assessments. This will benefit both the individual and the company in achieving a safe working environment.

The company will also consult with all their employees on matters affecting their wellbeing, providing information, training and supervision to ensure that they are competent to carry out their daily activities safely.

The company provides and maintains Safe Plant and Equipment Procedures, ensuring the safe handling and use of any hazardous substances.

The vision, values and beliefs of the business regarding Health and Safety will be communicated throughout the company by the Management Team.

We will regularly review health and safety performance and arrangements to ensure they remain suitable and to enable measures to be put in place to allow the Company to continually improve its health and safety performance.

AUCTION SITE SAFETY RULES

We are committed to providing, promoting and maintaining a safe and healthy environment for our employees, customers and visitors.  Please familiarise yourself with the Auction Site Safety Rules before you enter our auction site.

  • This auction site is a dangerous place with moving plant and equipment, flammable, corrosive, pressurized and other dangerous substances present. Please exercise extreme caution as Euro Auctions (UK) Limited or their Auctioneers are NOT responsible for any injuries sustained, damages or lost property.
  • All visitors report to the reception. (During auctions, please register for your bidder number)
  • CHILDREN ARE NOT PERMITTED ENTRY to our sites under the age of 12. Anyone under the age of 16 is strictly prohibited from being on, in, or operating any piece of equipment, machinery or vehicle.
  • Your vehicle is to be parked in the designated areas, no parking on the verge at the entrance gates. Take care when walking near or crossing the public roads.
  • Pedestrians/Customers should not stand behind or near moving vehicles. You should not mount any plant/machinery when they are being lined up to the ramp for auction.
  • Wear appropriate footwear and Hi-vis clothing must be worn when you are in the auction yard.
  • Do not operate or demonstrate equipment unless you are competent and qualified to do so. This is carried out at your own risk, and you will be responsible for any damage that occurs. Please ensure your surrounding area is clear, prior to operating or demonstrating equipment.
  • Viewing or testing plant/machinery can be carried out prior to an auction and only when a member of yard staff is present.
  • Immediately report all incidents (i.e. injuries, near misses, spills and property damage) to the Yard Manager or any Euro Auctions representative.
  • No unauthorised person is permitted in the Wash Bay area, Paint Shed and Garage.
  • Everyone must observe and adhere to the information on the safety signs and notices. Use the pedestrian crossings points and stay behind the barriers during the auctions.
  • If you require first aid, please report to the Reception, first aid trained personnel are always on site. Also, a defibrillator is available if required. Public toilets facilities are available on site.
  • Any person under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited from entering the auction site and operating or demonstrating equipment.
  • No smoking in public spaces or buildings.  Designated smoking areas to be used at all times.
  • Maxium speed limit on site is 10MPH or 15KM.
  • On occasions, images and videos are taken during the auction. These will be used for marketing purposes and may be published on (but not limited to) websites, printed and online publicity, social media and press releases.

If you do not wish to appear in the photographs or films, please let a member of staff know. Please be aware all auctions are live streamed onto our online bidding platform.

Anyone found to be in breach of any of the above listed rules, will be removed from the site and banned from all future auctions.

ENVIRONMENTAL

Euro Auctions are committed to providing a quality service in a manner that ensures a safe and healthy workplace for our employees and minimises our potential impact on the environment. We will operate in compliance with all relevant environmental legislation and we will strive to use pollution prevention and environmental best practices in all we do.

Our Policy therefore, is to:

  • Integrate the consideration of environmental concerns and impacts into our decision making and activities.
  • Minimise our waste and then reuse or recycle as much of it as is possible.
  • Minimise energy and water use within our buildings and processes in order to conserve supplies and minimise the consumption of natural resources.
  • As far as is possible, purchase products and services that do the least damage to the environment.
  • Train, educate and inform our employees about environmental issues that may affect their work.
  • Promote environmental awareness among our employees and encourage them to work in an environmentally responsible manner.
  • Communicate our environmental commitment to clients, customers and the public and encourage them to support it.
  • Where required by legislation or where significant health, safety or environmental hazards exist, develop and maintain appropriate emergency and spill response programmes.

EMPLOYEES

Euro Auctions staff are our greatest asset and as such we ensure that they have all the tools they need to do their jobs properly. As part of the CSR Euro Auctions is happy to comply with the Modern Slavery Act 2015
