Euro Auctions continues to plough new furrows

Popular January sale in Leeds now includes further consignments of agricultural tractors

Euro Auctions, the UK’s leading auctioneers of used agricultural equipment, industrial plant and construction machinery, has just consigned almost 100 tractors to its already busy auction at its Leeds site between Wednesday 25th and Friday 27th January. This builds on its acquisition of USA based Yoder & Frey in late December and its appointment by the administrators to coordinate the disposal of the cranes and general construction equipment assets of the hire company previously known as Hewden Stuart Ltd.

The batch of tractors just consigned include 40+ New Holland new and nearly new T6 and T7 models that should generate some real interest in the forthcoming plant and machinery auctions. These are going under the hammer alongside a number of other tractors brands already listed in the sale which include more than ten of each McCormick, John Deere and Massey Ferguson models.

“The January auction at Leeds has always been one of the most popular in our calendar, attracting an enviable number international bidders and buyers, so with so many more consignments being added from top flight manufacturers this sale is really shaping up,” explained Jonnie Keys, Operations Manager for Euro Auctions. “We have successfully demonstrated to the New Holland dealer network over the past year that we can meet its requirements and have now been rewarded with the opportunity to release a further 40+ new tractors onto the market in one tranche.  We anticipate a high level of interest and demand for these tractors and the wider agricultural equipment consigned to this sale and we expect buyers should be able to pick up some real bargains while still achieving good hammer prices across the board.”

In addition to the consigned tractors, around 1000+ agricultural and other farming related lots should be available across this sale including a variety of specialist vehicles, hedge cutters, slurry equipment, dump trailers, low loaders and tillage equipment.  In total Euro Auctions envisage around 4000 main lots will be included in this sale including telehandlers, tracked excavators in all manner sizes and configurations, wheeled excavators, dozers, dump trucks, loader, graders, other specialist construction vehicles.  There will also be a variety of commercial vehicles plus a diverse range of miscellaneous plant and equipment available including generators, compressors, power tools, vehicle accessories and a whole lot more.

Jonnie Keys concluded: “The January auction in Leeds has always proved to be the perfect start to our annual auction calendar and the dedicated and knowledgeable team here are working extremely hard to ensure everything is in place for this event and that it will push the £30 million overall hammer price again.”

Euro Auctions’ 26 acre Leeds auction site underwent a massive expansion in 2016 with the acquisition of an adjacent 80 acre plot of land. All the necessary infrastructure including the administrative offices, visitor parking, ancillary buildings and the main auction stages were already in place but as increasing volumes of used equipment is being assigned 40 acres of the acquired plot were immediately cleared and used to better display the equipment being auctioned. Lots go under the hammer at the rate of one lot per minute in the main auction stage with two additional rings for smaller equipment also being used.

Euro Auctions has an expanded schedule of Auctions for 2017. In addition to the sale in Leeds between 25th and 27th January others include:  dedicated one day HEWDEN events in Redruth on the 18th January, in Newtown Abbott on the 19th and Swansea on the 20th.
