Another Successful Leeds Auction with a Truly International Following
3 November 2010

Euro Auctions recent Leeds auction gathered a truly International following with 57 countries registering for the 2,712 lots on sale. The auction took place on 27,28,29th October 2010. There were over 100 first-time bidders, showing a consistent rise in the auction’s popularity. All lots sold for a total hammer price of £20M+, with the 20Ton Excavator category proving the most popular, followed by wheeled excavators. Increased International interest is expected to result in 49% of equipment being exported from the UK.

The auction welcomed back Croatia, Malaysia, Belarus, Hungary, Singapore, Taiwan and Tanzania, who were not at September’s Leeds auction; as well as Peru for the first time since November 2007.

All lots were available for internet bidding and online bids fetched 25% of the total hammer price. The top five countries buying online were the UK, the Netherlands, Finland, Belgium and Poland.

“Our Leeds auctions are going from strength to strength and have a truly International following. Online bidding has become more trusted and therefore more popular. A quarter of all lots sold at this auction were bought online, a good testament to the trust our online bidding has earned.” Jonnie Keys – Euro Auctions
